Best Spirit Summon To Use When Fighting Promised Consort Radahn
The Tarnished's journey in Shadow of the Erdtree culminates with them facing the legendary hero, and now Miquella's consort, Radhan. Being the final boss among the ten remembrance bosses, Promised Consort Radhan poses a great challenge for the Tarnished, and he grows even more dangerous in his second phase.
Embraced by Miquella, Radhan throws at the Tarnished a flurry of fast-paced melee attacks combined with holy spells in his second phase, requiring pinpoint precision when trying to roll through them. However, with everything in Elden Ring, there's always a way around the toughest of the challenges, and if you've been having a difficult time overcoming this seemingly impossible boss, the following build guide should come in clutch.

Fire Knight's Greatsword is among the best weapons in Elden Ring DLC. With the right stats and build, it can easily reach over a 1000 attack rating.
Best Character Attribute Distribution To Beat Promised Consort Radahn
It's recommended that you're at rune level 180 or above when challenging Promised Consort Radhan. For a character at rune level 190, the following attribute distribution will allow you to maintain a decent poise, equip heavy weapons, and put on better armor:
Attribute | Level |
---|---|
Vigor | 60 |
Mind | 11 |
Endurance | 52 |
Strength | 52 |
Dexterity | 52 |
Intelligence | 9 |
Faith | 25 |
Arcane | 8 |
If you're above level 190 or have extra runes to spare, it's recommended to spend them on upgrading your endurance. Any additional stamina will help you block for a longer duration without being staggered.
Additionally, with the Scadutree Fragments buffed in patch 1.12.2, you can comfortably beat Promised Consort Radahn at Scadutree level 15 and Revered Spirit Ash level at 7.
Best Armor To Beat Promised Consort Radahn
Radhan's attacks deal a lot of poise damage and withstanding them is necessary if you want to punish the boss with this build. Poise governs your resistance to being staggered and interrupted by enemy attacks. While there are several armor sets in the game that comfortably increase your poise, they also come at the cost of heavy equipment load.
This build aims at keeping your equipment load to medium, allowing you to medium-roll and dodge the boss' attacks. Fortunately, the following armor pieces allow you to gain 60 poise while staying at medium equipment load:
- Black Wolf Mask : Found on a corpse upon the rock formation behind Seluvis's Rise.
- Blaidd's Armor : Dropped upon defeating Blaidd.
- Blaidd's Gauntlets : Dropped upon defeating Blaidd.
- Blaidd's Greaves : Dropped upon defeating Blaidd.
Best Weapons To Beat Promised Consort Radahn
The selection of weapons included in this build will allow you to tank Radahn's flurry of attacks, while also dealing decent damage and inflicting the blood loss and scarlet rot status effects:
- Antspur Rapier : Dropped when defeating the NPC Maleigh Marais found northwest of the Shaded Castle. The Antspur Rapier is a thrusting weapon that already inflicts scarlet rot buildup, but it can also be infused with a secondary affinity, allowing you to deal two status effects with a single weapon. It's recommended that you infuse the Antspur Rapier with the Ash of War: Blood Blade and choose the blood affinity. Given how thrusting swords work, you can use this weapon while protecting yourself with a shield.
- Fingerprint Stone Shield : The Fingerprint Stone Shield may not be the most impressive looking shield in the game, but it is by far one of the best greatshields that you can acquire in the game. This greatshield completely negates physical damage while providing excellent resistance against magic, fire, lightning, and holy damage. You can acquire the Fingerprint Stone Shield by descending into the Leyndell Catacombs. You can also use the Verdigris Greatshield as it's only slightly weaker than the Fingerprint Stone Shield.
- Any Sacred Seal: While not necessary, you can also include a sacred seal of your choice to cast Flame, Grant Me Strength and the Golden Vow incantations to buff your damage output for 30 seconds. When choosing a Sacred Seal, ensure that it requires the minimum amount of faith to be effectively equipped. The Finger Seal and Clawmark Seal are great options.
Make sure your weapons are upgraded to the max to gain as much leverage as possible in the boss fight.

Best Talismans To Beat Promised Consort Radahn
Even with the best armor and weapon of choice, the full potential of a build is incomplete without the right selection of talismans. Talismans allow you to tweak a build to meet certain standards, such as increasing damage negation, increasing poise, or even dealing additional damage. The following talisman stack greatly boost your physical and non-physical damage negation while also increasing the damage you deal to the boss:
- Pearl Shield Talisman : Found near Ancient Ruins Base Site of Grace, the talisman increases all non-physical damage negation while guarding, which will come in handy when blocking Radhan's holy attacks.
- Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman : Found on Miquella's Haligtree, the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman negates physical damage by a whopping 20%.
- Pearldrake Talisman +3 : Found in Shadow Keep, the Pealdrake Talisman +3 reduces all elemental damage by 11%.
- Rotten Winged Sword Insignia : Dropped by Millicent upon completing Millicent's quest. You must side with Millicent in taking down her sisters of rot to acquire this talisman.
Best Wondrous Flask Of Physick Combination To Beat Promised Consort Radahn
The Wondrous Flask of Physick allows you to combine two tears to obtain special buffs. In Promised Consort Radahn's case, you'll want to prioritize damage output while also negating the damage you receive. Luckily, the following two tears allow you to capitalize on this strategy:
- Thorny Cracked Tear : Dropped from a Putrid Avatar near the Minor Erdtree southeast of Ordina, Liturgical Town in the Mountaintops of the Giants. Consuming this tear increases damage output of successive attacks for three minutes.
- Opaline Hardtear : Dropped from a Putrid Avatar near the Minor Erdtree north of Fort Faroth in Caelid. Consuming this tear negates all damage taken by 15% for three minutes.

Best Great Rune To Pair With This Build
While not mandatory, you could consider pairing Godrick's Great Rune with this build to add five additional points to all your attributes. The additional points will translate into scaling your weapon's damage output, increasing stamina, and boosting poise, all of which are a welcome addition to an already solid build.
However, if you'd only like to increase your maximum health and stamina, you could consider equipping Radahn's Great Rune as it provides even better stat boosts than Godrick's Great Rune.
Best Spirit Summon To Use When Fighting Promised Consort Radahn
The Mimic Tear is by far the best summon you could use when trying to beat Promised Consort Radahn. However, you could use other alternatives like a maxed out Black Knight Commandar Andreas or the Dung Eater.
Summons can be great at drawing away the boss's aggression, allowing you to reapply the buffs or use your healing flasks.

Buffing Routine & Attack Strategy
This build prioritizes simplicity and effectiveness, so the buffing routine is going to be minimal as well. Before you traverse the fog wall, pop the Wondrous Flask of Physick and then cast the Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength incantations. This buffing routine provides you with the following buffs:
- Increases damage output.
- Negates physical damage.
- Increases attack power with successive attacks.
The combination of a shield and a thrusting sword allows you to poke at Radahn while remaining behind the safety of your shield. So, the basic attack strategy involves holding onto the block input while spamming light attacks. Your primary form of damage will result from the Antspur Rapier's bleed affinity and scarlet rot build-up.
You may also need to momentarily disengage for a while to restore your stamina before re-engaging with the boss. You may not always be successful in summoning your spirit ash upon traversing the fog wall, so the ideal approach would be to summon a spirit ash when the boss transitions to phase two.
