Problem-solving in commercial interior design demands a clear roadmap. 🔍📐 Let's break it down step-by-step:1️⃣ Identify the problem: Define the project's goals, requirements, stakeholders, and their needs. This step is crucial—it helps narrow down the issue's scope and avoids confusion. Techniques like mind maps or checklists can be super helpful here!2️⃣ Generate Concepts: Once the problem's clear, it's time to brainstorm! Don't limit yourself—think beyond the obvious. Techniques like SCAMPER or TRIZ can kickstart your creativity and bring in innovative solutions.3️⃣ Select Optimal Design: With a list of ideas, it's time to weigh them against criteria like feasibility, cost, quality, and client satisfaction. Tools such as SWOT analysis or decision matrices can aid in making an informed decision.4️⃣ Implement and test: The chosen solution needs a plan! Execution and testing are key—using tools like Gantt charts or prototypes can streamline this process. Testing against the initial problem statement ensures your solution is on point. Surveys or observations help collect valuable data. Now, here's the real challenge—staying calm and focused during this problem-solving journey. How do you maintain your composure when navigating complex design issues? Share your wisdom! #InteriorDesign #ProblemSolving #StayCalm

How can you give 360-degree feedback to others? As a designer, there will be times when you are asked to give 360-degree feedback to others. It would help if you first organized your thoughts and then write them down. They don’t have to be in chronological order. Write everything that pops into your head and you can purge at the end. By writing all your thoughts down, you will be able to see everything that happened all at once. Viewing the process as a whole at the end will help you understand where mistakes occurred and what options you could have taken to avoid them. Giving feedback to others will benefit not just the people around you, but also yourself. This process will make clear where the gaps in the process are. How can you efficiently implement a 360-degree feedback system? The first step in efficiently implementing a 360-degree feedback system is to define the purpose and scope of the feedback. What are you hoping to find from the feedback? What areas do you want to know more about? These are two great questions to ask yourself before implementing this system. After you define the purpose, figure out what is the best way to receive feedback from people you’ve worked with. The easiest way would be to create a Google form to send to clients, vendors, and coworkers. It is quick to fill out and gives people the option to be more specific. I've often been asked whether I consider the big players in my industry as a threat to my small, independent firm. My simple answer is no. Not because I'm not aware of their pros, but I'm aware and confident about ours.Personalised experience: When you interact with smaller teams like ours, you actually see personalisation in action. It's not just a buzzword. From understanding your exact requirement to the T to developing a good rapport with your family members, we deliver an experience that's wholesome and memorable. :)Innovative designs: Not having to wait for multiple levels of approvals means we have bigger agency to create designs exactly like you want and more. It also gives us an opportunity to stray away from standardised templates and push our creativity to create designs that are never seen before. Collaborative interactions: Smaller firms typically encourage clients to be actively involved in the design process, fostering a sense of collaboration. This means clients can have a say in shaping the final outcome. In most cases, you'll have direct access to the actual people designing and building your homes, i.e. the architects and interior designers. This gives way to open communication and transparency, which often leads to good client relationship and trust that reflects in the work eventually. Like I said before, bigger firms will have a different set of pros and the choice ultimately depends on your priorities. But I hope when you've to make a decision the next time, you keep these advantages in mind too. #SmallFirmAdvantages #PersonalizedDesigns #InnovativeCreativity #CollaborativeProcess #ClientRelationships #InteriorDesignExperience #IndependentDesigners #UniqueHomeDesigns #TransparencyMatters #ChooseQuality

(Day 143) How can receiving feedback help when you’re struggling to come up with creative ideas?Receive feedback with an open mind and a positive attitude. It is important to understand why others are bringing up specific issues or problems. By understanding the root of their concern, you can better understand how to shape your design process. It is important to note that feedback is not a way to deter or criticize your work. It is a channel of communication between you and another party. There are bound to be differences in opinions. It is important to listen activity show respect and appreciation to the other party and have a conversation. Why do you approach a Building Designer for your project? Or perhaps the right question is why should you approach a Building Designer to help on your project? The answer for us is simple - it is more than just design. Most Building Designers will move mountains to convince you to use their services based only on their design skills and experience, and while those are both extremely important aspects of a project, StruXi’s approach is a little different.Whilst we have both the skills and the experience, our main focus is working hard to ensure that our Clients know, no matter what size the project is (big or small), your vision and project are important to us.
